If you are wanting to influence churches and church leaders through coaching and consulting I’d love to meet you. Helping churches and church leaders is not easy. Either you are going it alone or in an organization with an existing platform.

You are passionate about this. But reality quickly hits when you begin to realize you actually have to sell something. Consulting and sales - are two things I hate hate hate to be called, but that’s what we do. This is where influence begins.

Don’t let your great idea or your new venture die before it ever gets off the ground. You’re not alone. Join the group.

Three conversations I’ve had many times about
Certifications: ”I just got certified in ______ (enneagram, life coaching, strategy assesments, etc.) but I’m having trouble building my practice. How do I get customers?”

Fund Raising: “I took a missional role with ______ (a para church non profit) and I have to raise my salary and I’m dead in the water. How do I get donors?”

Organizational: “I was excited when I left my church role to help churches every where on _____ (church planting, building, student events, architecture, church health, church leadership, etc.) but I’m learning that my job actually feels more like sales than caring for pastors.”

I can relate to these conversations because I have also been that person.

Since 2006 I’ve been doing something that feels like either consulting or sales and I hate both of those titles. I thought I’d do this for six months til we figured out the next church role, but here I am 15+ years later. I guess I’ll do this.

It’s a bit lonely and can be discouraging.

This is why I started THE GROUP. We discuss stuff like sales, how to influence people for good, how to “consult” and “sell” and still love the Church and Church Leaders. How to not grow cynical. We learn about marketing, sales pipelines, what’s actually happening when we send a proposal to someone…and a host of other topics.

Each session a participant sits on the hot seat and presents their thing. They tell us what they’re learning and then they ask a question and we all learn.

This isn’t a master mind to learn three secret steps…it’s group learning and it’s fun. I learned a lot last session and look forward to the next. We are splitting the group in to two distinct groups: 1.) those that have a solopreneur thing (the coaches/side hustlers/working alone) and 2.) those that work in companies on larger teams.
